Sarasota Bay is one of my favorite inshore fisheries. Having fished Sarasota Bay a lot as a teenager, it was high on my list to add to the program. I have some buddies that work for the Cincinnati Reds front office and I knew they would be in Sarasota for spring training. I invited them along for a day of fishing under the guide of Captain Eric Paquin and I informed the Captain that Zach & Rizzo were not “fishermen”. At least that’s what I thought until I saw them reel in a fish every two minutes. We started on a near shore structure catching a variety of Grouper, Snapper & Sheepshead. We moved back inside the bay to tackle some docks & grass flats landing Red Fish, Trout, Black Drum and Blue Fish. Capt. Eric has an outstanding knowledge of the Bay and also some near shore hot spots. The Capt. can put you on any species you desire that resides in the area with Snook Red Fish and Trout being his specialty. Capt Eric is not only knowledgeable, he is one of those guys anyone would enjoy fishing with.
