Adventure Island has four fishing kayaks rigged with all the bells & whistles. It was so windy the week we were there we only got to use them once and even that was a challenge. We found a school of Bone Fish and used the kayaks to follow them. The wind was blowing so hard you could only get one cast on the school before the wind blew you off. The Island is surrounded by hundreds of patch reefs; you could use the kayaks to troll Yo-Zuri’s through them to pick up 20 pound Barracuda every time. Also you could anchor next to the reefs using small jigs to catch Snapper, Grouper, & Jacks. What I really wanted to do but didn’t get a chance to was troll the two thousand foot drop off which is only a hundred yards off the front of the island. Next year I’ll make sure not to go down during the kite flying festival.
