I’ve heard the horror stories of eight-hundred dollar boat rides and the five-hundred dollar Lady Fish. I’ve never experienced that kind of service from a captain… until now. For those of you who need a reason to book through Travel Anglers, this is it. If you don’t use captains or guides very often here are a few examples of a bad captain. 1. If the captain can’t read a tide or doesn’t check the tide before the charter. 2. If the captain gets his boat stuck in the sand and then spends an hour of your fishing time trying to get out. 3. If the captain has no back-up plan after you’ve spent a few hours catching nothing (because the tide is too low). 4. If the captain has nothing to talk about except for all the women he has (supposedly) been with. 5. If that captain takes the front deck fishing for himself, not allowing you to get a good cast in the process (you’re not paying the captain to fish you’re paying him to guide). 6. If the captain can’t tie a basic loop knot (we had four loops pull out).

Not one or two of these things happened to me in an eight hour charter, all of them did. This is why Travel Anglers is in business: you don’t have to guess if the captain knows what he is doing. You already know because we have tested them out. If you plan on using a captain in Naples or Fort Meyers give us a call so you don’t use this guy. He had a nice website and supposedly fished the Celebrity Redbone but had no idea what he was doing. The Ritz Carlton, Naples was outstanding with excellent food. |
