Cincinnati, Ohio as a travel fishing destination? Carp on the fly has become the latest craze in fly fishing. If you pick up a fly fishing magazine at the local supermarket today, it will feature an article on “Carp on the fly”. Capt. Craig Bailey with Knee Deep Expeditions has taken Carp on the fly to a whole new level. Craig has created the saltwater sight casting experience on the small 3000 acre lakes surrounding the Cincinnati area. Craig even has a saltwater Ranger skiff outfitted with poling platform and extra casting platform. Other than location and at a faction of the price, it was exactly like fishing for Bonefish in the key’s or Red fishing in the marsh. Craig has even put together some stay and fish packages close to attraction like King’s Island, (best rollercoaster park in the world) The Beach Water park, and the Great Wolf Lodge. All three attractions are within 15 minutes of Craig’s best fishing hole. Carp season for Craig runs May through September. After a day of fishing we had an outstanding time at Great American Ball Park watching the mighty Cincinnati Reds win another. Awesome trip!!! Rate $350, 6 Hours
